Buying guideHow to recognize a quality omega-3
Fish oils differ a lot in what they deliver. Four things on the label separate an omega-3 worth buying from one that just says omega-3 on the box, and you can check all four before you pay.
01EPA and DHA per softgel, not oil per softgelA typical unconcentrated 1,000 mg fish oil softgel carries about 300 mg of EPA+DHA. Read the Supplement Facts for EPA and DHA, not the weight of the oil. Omega 3 Pro declares 480 mg of EPA and 320 mg of DHA per softgel, so the two-softgel serving is 960 mg of EPA and 640 mg of DHA.
02Triglyceride form, not ethyl esterThe lower-cost way to concentrate fish oil leaves it as an ethyl ester. Re-esterifying it back to triglyceride, the same molecular form found in fish, costs more. Omega 3 Pro is triglyceride (rTG), minimum 85 % omega-3, in a delayed-release enteric DELASOL® softgel.
03IFOS™ certification, batch by batchIFOS™ is an independent program that tests finished fish oil for potency, contaminants and oxidation. Omega 3 Pro comes in at a TOTOX below 10, well under the GOED voluntary limit of 26. View the IFOS™ certificate.
04SPMs, declared with their numbersSPMs are specialized pro-resolving mediators. SPMs Pro supplies 18-HEPE, 17-HDHA and 14-HDHA measured, with lab results for every lot.
The next step: the Bundle or the Program
Once Omega 3 Pro is part of your day, the next step is pairing it with SPMs Pro. The Pro-Resolution Bundle is both bottles, each a 30-day supply, for $99. If you would rather measure than guess, the Pro-Resolution Program runs the same routine with an at-home OmegaQuant test at day 30. The Omega-3 Index it measures was developed by Drs. William Harris and Clemens von Schacky and is used in nutrition research worldwide. Your result comes back as a personalized report, written by our founder, so your second month runs on your own number.

Frequently asked questions
Which omega-3 should I buy first?
Omega 3 Pro. It has 800 mg of EPA and DHA per softgel, in triglyceride form and IFOS™ certified, and the serving is two softgels a day. When you want the full routine, move up to the Pro-Resolution Bundle or the Pro-Resolution Program.
What does IFOS-certified omega-3 mean?
IFOS™ is an independent testing program for fish oil. It checks the finished product for the EPA and DHA stated on the label, for contaminants and for oxidation. Omega 3 Pro is IFOS™ certified, with a TOTOX below 10.
Triglyceride or ethyl ester: which form is better?
Triglyceride is the form omega-3 takes in fish. Concentrated fish oil is often left as an ethyl ester because re-esterifying it back to triglyceride costs more. Omega 3 Pro and SPMs Pro are both in triglyceride form.
How many softgels a day?
Omega 3 Pro: adults, 2 softgels a day, which is 1,600 mg of EPA+DHA. SPMs Pro: adults, 3 softgels a day with meals. If you take anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, have a bleeding disorder, or are pregnant or nursing, talk to your healthcare provider before use.
What is the difference between Omega 3 Pro, SPMs Pro, the Bundle and the Program?
Omega 3 Pro supplies EPA and DHA. SPMs Pro supplies 825 mg of omega-3 plus 255 µg of 18-HEPE, 17-HDHA and 14-HDHA, measured on every lot. The Pro-Resolution Bundle is both bottles for one month at $99. The Pro-Resolution Program adds an at-home OmegaQuant Omega-3 Index test at day 30 and a personalized report, at $194.
Read before you buy
The Omega-3 Index test is a wellness measurement, not a diagnostic test. Contains fish (Omega 3 Pro: anchovy, sardine, mackerel).
